Classic canal house where the characteristic details such as the oak beam ceilings are preserved. A custom-made kitchen with new kitchen appliances built into the existing storage cupboard.
The wide oak tapis floor elements in combination with the light white gray walls give the apartment a spatial experience. The high black steel frame doors make it possible to separate the kitchen and the living room without blocking out the natural light.
The newly placed staircase is clad with triple solid douglas at the front and finished with a matte black oil which is reminiscent of the Japanese Shou Sugi Ban method of preserving wood through surface burning.
